Five new Sonic The Hedgehog LEGO sets are leaking onto the internet and they may be part of more Sonic-related releases in 2023.


The announcement of five new Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO sets may have just leaked online and may match planned Sonic-related content coming in 2023. LEGO is known to release collaborations with other well-known brands and titles such as Star Wars, Mario Bros., Indiana Jonesand Jurassic Park to name a few.


Sonic the Hedgehog is a well-known character who also serves as SEGA’s mascot, similar to what Mario represents for Nintendo. In fact, both mascots are known as the best platform game characters for their respective brands. Currently, Sonic remains a fixture in the video game market with the release of SEGA Sonic Limits earlier this year and is considered a financial success.

As such, it’s probably not surprising to hear the news that there are five new ones Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO sets are coming in, especially with the franchise reviving in the past year, which spawned the Netflix show sonic primeas well as new video games and the Sonic the Hedgehog2 movie eg. Promobricks, a LEGO blog known for reporting news and leaks around LEGO sets, has shared that five different sets will be available over the course of next year.

This one Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO sets have different price points between $29.99 and $99.99. While no further information is known about the content and release date of the aforementioned sets, it is expected that they will be available by LEGO’s summer release of 2023, approximately around August of that year.

Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka recently stated, “We’ve already announced additional content for Sonic Limitsbut there’s a lot more out there, so please look forward to it.” It looks like SEGA may try to maintain momentum for the blue blur, especially with how favorable the past year has been for the Sonic Brand. With merchandise such as the recently released Sonic the Hedgehog Squishmallows are dropping soon tooas well as an early announcement of the Sonic Limits DLC Roadmap for 2023, Sonic may release more brand related releases soon.

This isn’t it either Sonic the Hedgehog‘s first introduction to LEGO. Fans may soon remember that Sonic the Hedgehog first appeared in LEGO form in the video game LEGO dimensions. In that game, physical LEGO figures were placed on a physical portal, where they could then be used in the game. Fans also had a taste for the very first one earlier this year Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO sets released on January 1, 2022.

Nevertheless, these new sets are a welcome addition to Sonic’s legacy and are sure to be coveted collectibles for fans and non-fans alike. Maybe this will eventually open a new door for a LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog video game, but for now fans should stick with the most recent game release as Sonic Limits more DLC is coming in 2023.
